• hope when all seems hopeless
• joy in sorrow and grief
• peace in chaos and overwhelming circumstances
• strength to stand when all else fails• a love that conquers and never fails
Standing Up is your personal invitation to attend to the still small voice within, to trust God-given vision, hunch, and happenstance as reliable guides, and to always be on the lookout for what God would have you do next.

In early November I watched dark heavy clouds brewing over the Wet Mountains from the top of Skyline . Thankfully, I was on the last leg of my walk as the rainstorm quickly approached. In awe at the way the sky was moving and changing, I asked the Lord, “What is in a storm?” Before I could even finish the question, the answer came: “POWER.”
Wow – there is power in a storm. I thought of the storms in our lives – God’s power is right in the middle of it and we don’t see it until the storm has passed. God’s glory is found in our storms. His power is released in the storm. His power is in control of the storm (even if it doesn’t appear that way at the time), and His power will bring us out of the storm. So simple and yet so profound and powerful.
“A beautiful journey, this story is an inspiring example of how to walk through the trials of life with your head up and shoulders back and how to learn to seek the Lord on your path. I was encouraged to be stronger and more resilient and free spirited as I read through challenges, changes, and adventures. This book is a great example of how to live with a tender mother’s heart, but also as a strong individual woman, sharing and loving life with those around us. I enjoyed feeling like a missionary as I experienced Holly’s journey!”
“Through unimaginable tribulations, heart-wrenching trials, and deep despair, Holly discovers Jesus Christ and His incredible mercy, peace, and hope. In her story, God reveals His plans and takes her on a journey of emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual growth as she surrenders her will to His. This book will leave you in tears yet rejoicing humbly at the foot of the cross where you will be blessed beyond measure.”

“Standing Up shows not only the fierce love of a mama’s heart but the love and surrender of a woman who learned to trust God, never backing down from the devastation of sickness that wreaked havoc in her son’s life. Holly draws from a fountain of strength of trust in God that surprises even her. Holly tells about the deep losses in her life and how God showed up inexplicably to always show Himself faithful and true. She follows the call on her life and reaches beyond her own pain to embrace the lost and forgotten in this world.”

“Such an astonishing, fully surrendered walk of faith! Life is not perfect. Holly shows us how to walk through it with God. This book is an encouragement, inspiration, and points directly to our Savior, Jesus.”
“Alas! I am a woman of wobbly faith. Sometimes I feel deep connection with God, and sometimes I feel alone in the universe.Holly Conwell’s Standing Up came “by chance” into my life to pick my faith up, dust if off, and put it front and center in my ordinary, everyday existence. Holly’s faith gently reminds me that God’s lessons and love are available always and everywhere – in the daffodils I bought at the market this morning, in the chance words of a stranger, in the tear drops of a friend whose mother is dying – and that to receive them, I have only to look and to listen.“
